Romans 8 is full of Verses to Live By! A new Law!
Starting with Romans 8:1-11 walking after the Spirit. Satan has no power over us in this mode. Christ is in us, no matter what we are suffering. He is greater. A new law is in us. The Law of the Spirit in Christ Jesus. But before Romans 8 the Therefore refers back to all of Romans 1-7. So be sure your study includes these first.
[There is] Therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
And then there is “therefore” which basically means the answer to the above thought is Romans 8:12 -16
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the
“Sons of God, we cry Abba Father and we are children of God” How neat is that.
“AND” another powerful word here. And it is Used twice. in Romans 8:17-25.
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together.
And ending with Our Victory in Christ.
Instead of therefore, Likewise is used in Roman 8:26-37
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
What a statement to end Romans 8 with. We have nothing to Fear!
Romans 8:38-39.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
So what can I say of this Romans 8, so full of truth and so important in our walk with Christ? What I can say is Read it and Read again and again. And be sure to understand the “therefores” and “likewise” throughout Romans.
