More than I have ever heard before. Be a Berean

David B Curtis of the Berean Bible Church studies Melchizedek

This study seems to be a lean topic to study but David finds much to say about it. I like his approach to these two messages. I include his notes and audios below. He is a true Berean and this is a Berean Bible Church.

The Melchizedekian Priesthood Pt 1 Genesis 14:17-22 Delivered 02/11/24 David B Curtis

Good morning, Bereans. For our study this morning, I want to share with you something that I have been studying. This is going to be something that you have probably never heard before, so I ask that you be
Bereans and not accept it or reject it until you have studied it. Let’s begin by looking at Exodus 19.

Also let the priests who come near to the LORD consecrate themselves, lest the LORD break out against them.” And Moses said to the LORD, “The people cannot come up to
Mount Sinai, for you yourself warned us, saying, ‘Set limits around the mountain and consecrate it.”” And the LORD said to him, “Go down, and come up bringing Aaron with you.
But do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to the LORD, lest he break out against them.”
Exodus 19:22-24 ESV

Does anything strike you as odd or out of place here? Who were these priests? The Aaronic priesthood had not yet been created. That doesn’t happen until chapter 28.

“Then bring near to you Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the people of Israel, to serve me as priests—Aaron and Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar
and Ithamar. And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty. You shall speak to all the skillful, whom I have filled with a spirit of skill, that
they make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him for my priesthood.

Exodus 28:1-3 ESV

So, who are these priests that Yahweh talks about in Exodus 19 before the Law of Moses was ever given? The first priest mentioned in the Bible is Melchizedek.

David is getting deeper into the word here. Even he admits that some of these things are hard to understand. You won’t hear this sermon in most all churches in America. I am in no way wise enough to agree or understand all that he said. But as a Berean we study together and Pray for the Holy Spirit’s enlightenment. To me this great because this does lead to another path for the world to see the Grace of God. Also, this confirms Paul’s teachings and explains the Old Testament before the Jew were selected. The individual relationship with God, like Job, Enock, and many others outside the Jewish nation. God is aways there in men’s hearts and talking with them one on one.

Like I said I am just another Berean studying Gods word.

The Melchizedekian Priesthood Pt 2 Hebrews 5:1-10 Delivered 02/18/24 David B Curtis

Good morning, Bereans. In our last study, we looked at the Melchizedekian priesthood and this morning I want to look at it a little more. In dealing with this subject, I want you to understand something the Bible tells us about it.
In Hebrews chapter 5, the author introduces the subject of Melchizedek. He tells his readers that Christ is a priest after the order of Melchizedek, In the first 10 verses of chapter 5, he references Psalm 110:4 twice. You would think that the logical sequence of our author’s argument would have led him on to expound the significance of Christ’s being a high priest “after the order of Melchizedek. ” And he does this in Chapters 7-10, but first he turns aside to address some words of particular admonition to his reader’s spiritual condition. He says.

About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. Hebrews 5:11 ESV
